Staff Profile

The purpose of the cadet staff is to perform all actions essential to the continued function of the sqaudron. Members of the staff have greater opportunities for advancement in AFJROTC because they have more chances to take action and excel, as well as demonstrating their leadership skillls. However, staff members also have more responsibilities than other cadets. They must perform their duties as staff members in addition to their regular classwork. Members must also attend meetings which are held every other week.

 The squadron commander is at the top of the chain of command within the cadet squadron. It is a position of high prestige and honor, but it is also the most demanding job withing the squadron. While the individual Staff Officers must be familiar with the activities of their own departments, the Squadron Commander must be familiar with eveything that goes on within the squadron. He or she must cooridinate the efforts of every department and assign tasks to each department. And ultimatley, the Squadron Commander is responsible for all of the various functions when requested to do so. The Squadron Commander is the one person who represents the whole squadron, so he or she must know what to do and how to do it better than anyone else in the squadron.
